GL EVENTS, OFFICIAL TEMPORY ENERGY PARTNER OF THE PARIS 2024 OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC GAMES
GL events, in partnership with LOXAM, Official Temporary Energy Partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games!
Since the beginning of 2023, GL events, a global player in the event industry, and LOXAM, a specialist in the rental of equipment for construction, industry and events, have signed a partnership contract to supply temporary power distribution equipment for all the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic venues.
Under this partnership, GL events will provide project management and supply all products and services related to the production and distribution of temporary energy, power supply and temporary temperature control systems at all venues, including the International Broadcast Center (IBC).
The power supply concept for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games is to connect the temporary installations to the existing power distribution network and then deploy a complementary temporary architecture from these connection points to ensure uninterrupted power signal in the event of a malfunction.
The project involves the installation of more than thirty high-voltage delivery substations, over a hundred high-voltage/low-voltage transformers, several thousand electrical distribution cabinets and over 600 km of cables at all the sites.
Ultimately, our solution will help to reinforce the existing power grid, and the substations installed can be reused for future major sporting events.
A team of over 350 people will be mobilized for the design, assembly, operation and dismantling of these installations, mobilizing the excellence of an industrial sector present in France.
